Tap - A dance that produces varying rhythmic patterns. Tap sounds must not be pre- taped with the music

Jazz - A dance using jazz technique based on isolation of the body

Lyrical - A dance incorporating an interpretation of music derived from jazz & ballet technique 

Open - Can include Musical Theatre/ Song & Dance... Lip sync and spoken words in a musical comedy/ character routine

Hip Hop/ Street Jazz - Routines where dancers execute free form movement and styling characteristics of contemporary dance styles. Funk, Hip-Hop, Break Dance, Street Dance and Free Style are permitted in this category

Pointe - A dance done on pointe shoes using classical music and technique

Acrobatics - Combination of Acro skills and dance choreography.  Should have strong balance of both styles

Contemporary - Mix of Modern, Lyrical and Ballet technique

Pom - Inspired by Jazz, Hip Hop, & cheerleading. Strong intense arms and visuals *themes are not mandatory*

Self -Choreography - Can incorporate any style. Own personal interpretation to help personal growth
